About Dr. Lebowitz

Mark A. Lebowitz, MD is the managing partner of KLM Eye MDs and medical director of the Brooklyn Eye Surgery Center, both located in Brooklyn, New York.

With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Lebowitz provides an extensive array of medical and surgical services to his patients. These include comprehensive ophthalmological examinations, laser-assisted cataract surgery with astigmatism correcting and multifocal intraocular lens implants, laser vision correction (including LASIK and PRK surface ablation ), diagnosis and treatment of corneal and external disease states (including dry eye conditions), and glaucoma treatment and management.

Dr. Lebowitz earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in chemistry from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He then went on to earn his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine.

He continued his training at Beth Israel Medical Center, where he completed an internship in internal medicine. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the SUNY Health Science Center in New York, where he later became Chief Resident. He finished his fellowship in cornea and anterior segment surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.

Dr. Lebowitz is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He maintains active memberships with the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Keratoplasty, Medical Society of County of Kings, New York State Ophthalmological Society, and the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society.
